need help with storage
does any one know if you can store cracked corn for long periods and if so is it better to store in one large 55gal container or 11 5gal. buckets

I wouldn't think corn would last as long as weat or white rice because I beleive it has more oil in it; but I'm no expert so I could be FOS. |

Is there any way to un-crack it? Milled grain won't last anywhere near as long as whole grain. You're letting the oxygen and everything else in.
5-gal buckets, etc are great but plastic is porous unless you use mylar liners. O2 absorbers, buckets, mylar liners, etc, may cost more than the grain is worth. If it's only for a while, (1 year or so) why not 30 gal steel trashcans and a contractor-grade liner? TS |
